Owner & Executive Chef, It’s a CupCake! Sweet & Savory Boutique Certified ServSafe Instructor & Proctor
Chef Mona Wilson—better known as Chef MoWils, or the Cupcake Sommelier—was born with a sweet tooth as big as her heart. Her love affair with chocolate began before she could walk and blossomed under the influence of strong women in her life, who infused every dish with love.
At It’s a CupCake!, Chef Mona leads a boutique catering service specializing in artisan hors d’oeuvres and handcrafted desserts, created to elevate events across PA, NJ, and DE, destinations and travel to events—from weddings and galas to corporate functions and intimate showers. Her passion for flavor and presentation shines through mini bites, savory cupcakes, charcuterie cups, gourmet brownies, cheesecake tastings, and more, making every bite an experience.
Her culinary creations have been featured in People Magazine, Food & Wine, Upscale Magazine, and various TV shows and blogs.
As a single mom and entrepreneur, Chef Mona brings warmth, tenacity, and exceptional creativity to every project. Juggling business, parenting, and community, she infuses her work with empathy and collaboration — always with a kind heart.
She is also a Certified ServSafe Instructor & Proctor, and we’re proud to have her lead our live ServSafe training sessions with her supportive, hands-on style.
