Chef Scott Sumsky: Culinary Creative & Imagine Impact Business Collaborator
Chef Scott Sumsky launched his culinary career at just 17 years old at the iconic Country Club Diner in Northeast Philadelphia. From those early days behind the line, he’s built a dynamic career blending food, storytelling, and community. His experience spans beloved Philly restaurants including Sonoma and Derek’s in Manayunk, and he played a key role in opening Jose Garces’ flagship restaurant, Amada.
Scott spent seven years leading the kitchen at La Calaca Feliz in Fairmount, where he made a name for himself with bold flavors and creative flair. He went on to join The Lucky Well, managing culinary operations and leading the chef coordination program at The Lucky Well Incubator under Chad Rosenthal.
Beyond the kitchen, Scott is also the founder of Shot Out of a Cannon, a creative content business that specializes in food and portrait photography, short-form promotional videos, and Instagram reels for small businesses. For the past seven years, he has brought a cinematic eye and playful energy to visual storytelling—partnering with brands like Chef Reuby (now collaborating with Taco Bell), Tim Spinner (owner of Taqueria Amor), and food-forward businesses like Boostin Bowls Philly, The Wall Cycling Studio, and Porco’s Porchetteria, Small Oven Pastry Shop, and Breezy’s Deli and Market. He’s also produced engaging event content, including themed character videos for the St. Joe’s Hawks Jumbotron.
As a trusted creative collaborator with Imagine Impact LLC, Scott supports hospitality clients with high-impact visuals that elevate brand presence and drive engagement.
Scott is also the proud creator of Pastromsky—a limited-run pop-up that showcases his house-smoked pastrami, hand-crafted sausages, and BBQ-inspired sandwiches, bringing together his culinary roots and signature style.
